I am sure you will have been watching the ongoing news regarding the current Covid-19 (Coronavirus) situation from many different angles. As long-term investors, we tend not to get involved with comment on markets or short-term news flow. These are exceptional times and I would like you to know that we are monitoring the situation closely.
The global situation around Covid-19 is fast moving, but please be reassured that we continue to meet our goals of sustaining a high level of service for clients and looking carefully after our staff.
We are reviewing the position daily and following advice from the World Health Organisation and national governments supporting the containment of the disease and delaying its transmission, and we would note that there are currently a very limited number of cases here in Scotland.
Our operations, which are primarily conducted from our Edinburgh office remain unaffected. We have equipped our staff with laptops to be able to work remotely from the office while still connecting with all our major systems and all of us can be contacted via our usual office number or the Directors’ mobiles below.
We are satisfied that we have appropriate arrangements in place to remain operational.
Market volatility
As you know, our investment philosophy is very long-term, with a horizon of five years and beyond. Even in the last 20 years we have experienced several global crises, each different from the last, but with the same recurring lesson – that our long-term investment horizon, calm heads and support from yourself will see our clients’ portfolios emerge from the current crisis in good shape for the future.

With interest rate cuts to record lows and Government support on mortgage payment holidays, our mortgage team are continuing to work very hard on giving the best advice to our clients.
