A good New Year to one and all. Let’s hope that 2021 will eventually see the back of the COVID pandemic and life returning to normal.
But as the current restrictions stand our message is very much the same as it was back in March of last year:
“Our operations, which are primarily conducted from our Edinburgh office remain unaffected. We have equipped our staff with laptops to be able to work remotely from the office while still connecting with all our major systems and all of us can be contacted via our usual office number or the Directors’ mobiles below.”
Nearly a year on, we know that we have managed to conduct business as usual, except for meetings which are taking place online. We will continue to operate in this way until we can safely return to the office and meeting with clients and prospects face to face.
Our comment on market volatility has not changed since the start of the pandemic either:
“As you know, our investment philosophy is very long-term, with a horizon of five years and beyond. Even in the last 20 years we have experienced several global crises, each different from the last, but with the same recurring lesson – that our long-term investment horizon, calm heads and support from yourself will see our clients’ portfolios emerge from the current crisis in good shape for the future.”
We can report that this approach has stood our clients well as market values are now better than they were before the drop back in March 2020, in most cases significantly.
Last year has also reinforced our belief in that we must stick to the plan, focus on the things that matter and that we can control. Indeed, you can read an article that we published about this called Controlling what you can and what matters.
Our mortgage team were also kept very busy last year as lenders offered mortgage payment holidays and there were deals to be done on remortgages too.
So, as we move into 2021, our message is that we continue to work as normal, offering advice on financial planning, investments, retirement planning and mortgage management. And always working to the highest professional standards
